Considering she only competed when she was on summer break or an occasional off-weekend from Miami University of Ohio, Paige Coughlin made quite an impact on the drag racing scene in 2019, finishing a close second in the Division 3 Super Comp championship points and racing to the lead of the coveted JEGS Allstars rankings.
Paige was a picture of consistency in her JEGS.com rail, riding crew chief Justin Beaver's aggressive tune-up to late-round finishes at nearly every race she entered. It was a breakthrough year in many regards, although with just two and a half years of experience in the class, she still has plenty of room to improve.
The second of three daughters of three-time Pro Mod world champion Troy Coughlin Sr. and his wife Julie, Paige is now in her sophomore year at university, studying public relations and communications.
Paige licensed in Super Comp in 2017 under the watchful eye of her grandfather, Jeg Coughlin Sr., who founded the family business, JEGS Automotive, 60 years ago in downtown Columbus, Ohio. She also gets plenty of guidance from her father and brother Troy Coughlin Jr., a two-time regional champion in Top Alcohol Dragster.
When not at the racetrack, Paige still enjoys horsepower -- one horse at a time -- as part of the university's RedHawks equestrian team. She also enjoys showing horses.
