Jack Coughlin has a terrific teacher as he learns the intricacies of drag racing. Jack is the oldest son of multi-time drag racing champion Mike Coughlin, who is helping guide young Jack through the Junior Dragster league.
NHRA created the Junior Dragster division in 1992 to help kids learn how to safely drag race. The Junior Dragster ranks has helped foster the careers of NHRA champions like Erica Enders and Shawn Langdon – along with many members of the third generation of the famed Coughlin family.
Jack first won a Junior Dragster race in 2012 and continues to taste success alongside younger brother Clay.
He has other hobbies, too, and loves to compete in many different sports. He has excelled in baseball, basketball and football, and recently has taken up another favorite sport among the successful Coughlin family, golf.
Jack was a key member of his school's football team that won its age bracket in 2011, and he has played on a traveling all-star baseball team.
