This week some of the best bracket racers from all over the country will be roaring into Bristol Dragway’s famed Thunder Valley in Tennessee for the 6th annual K&N Spring Fling 5-Day race. Frequented by over 500 racers, competitors will be vying for cash awards of upwards of $20,000 to win each day in addition to exceptional round money and over $50,000 in prize awards.

Gates will open on Tuesday, May 12 when a select field of 32 racers will compete for the chance to win a brand new dragster in the American Race Cars/Racetech Super Tuesday Dragster Shootout. Wednesday through Saturday, races will be sponsored by Yukon Gear & Axle, FTI Transmissions & Converters, Nitroplate Coatings and JEGS respectively. Thursday will also be reserved for the Steve Schmidt Competition Engines Door Car Shootout where another select field of racers in door cars only compete for a $10,000 to win payday. Steve Schmidt Competition Engines will also pay a $1,000 bonus to any door car which wins any of the days.

The Wiseco Pistons Points Fund pays a $5,000 bonus to the racer going the most rounds in addition to bonus money to the top five finishers. Friday morning the ‘Fling’s patented $20,000 Challenge will allow 20 randomly selected drivers to take a chance against the Christmas tree. A perfect reaction time of .000 earns that driver a $1,000 bill while a .00X gets that person $100. Friday night the Sparco Racer Appreciation Barbeque will take place with great food cooked by Chef Anthony (Bertozzi) along with a live DJ and Karaoke.

Sunday will be left open for a cleanup/rain date or travel day. Co-promoter Peter Biondo explains, “The value to racers in the slight change to the 2015 format of having four main event races and five days to complete them gives us more opportunity to get all races completed in full and give our Spring Fling racers the track time they deserve. It also brings the overall entry fee down which I believe will be welcomed by racers.”

Live Internet video feed will be on all week in addition to a 30-minute special to air on MavTV later in the year. For more information, visit  or visit and “like” our Spring Fling Facebook page to keep up to date with any K&N Spring Fling announcements.
