BRISTOL, TN — For the twelfth straight year, the Fling bracket racing franchise returns to its birthplace at Bristol Dragway. The RAD Torque Systems Fall Fling presented by Optima Batteries will feature the best bracket racers in the country battling it out for over $400,000 in purse and prizes. With a beautiful week of weather in store, along with a gate entry/no cap format, Bristol Dragway is set to be packed with great racing action.
It all begins on Tuesday with Rob’s Automotive and Collision Center Test and Tune followed by the American/Race Tech 32-Car Shootout in the afternoon. FST Carburetors Wednesday Warm-Up will pay $15,000, followed by Moser Engineering $25,000-to-win on Thursday. ATI Performance Friday will feature the $100,000 main event and the Mullis Race Cars Racer Appreciation evening BBQ.
The 5-day event will be capped off with JEGS Performance $25,000 Saturday where all round money — including third-round winners through the semi-finalists — will be doubled, as chosen by the racers during a weeklong voting period on social media.
“We had a tough year losing my best friend and business partner Kyle Seipel,” said Fling event promoter Peter Biondo. “Without Kyle, I needed to find another way to get racer feedback. We ended up putting out a vote to the racers for Saturday’s Purse. The options were to either double the winner prize from $25,000 to $50,000, or to double all the round money. Racers chose to double the round money and that’s what we are going to do. I know Kyle will be proud and it’s a fitting way to end the Fling season in his honor.”
The Kyle Seipel ‘Never Give Up’ Award returns, where one racer who faces adversity throughout the week will be presented with a custom crystal plaque and $1,000 courtesy of the Fall Fling and Ivey Hutto’s Golf Cart Sales and Service.
The Fling ‘Fun Zone’ courtesy of Premier Moving will also be back. The Fling team is bringing in a Batman bounce house and a 61 ft. obstacle course, along with cold water and ice pops to entertain the kids.
Over $50,000 in product giveaways will again be awarded over the course of five days of racing. All of the action will be streamed live as it happens on MotorManiaTV.com free to the viewer thanks to JEGS Performance and Mickey Thompson Tires and Wheels.
