What do you do on a weekend off? When your name is Coughlin, you go racing. During the recent short sabbatical between national events in Topeka and Chicago, three-time series champion Jeg Coughlin, Pro Mod star Troy Coughlin, sportsman standout Mike Coughlin, and family patriarch Jeg Coughlin Sr. took to the 2.4-mile, 15-turn road course at Mid-Ohio.
“We had a blast,” Jeg said. “We went to have fun but it never hurts to drive different kinds of racecars and see how they handle in different situations. The instructors working with us are second-to-none and they really take their time explaining the best and quickest way through the race course. And just like the NHRA, there’s always a strong emphasis on safety. I’d say it was time well spent.”
