HEBRON, Ohio (June 6) — Junior Dragster driver Makenna Brown won her second race of the season Saturday at National Trail Raceway.
Racing through to her third consecutive final round, the 11-year-old Brown took down defending track champion and current points leader Nicholas Altenbach with an impressive holeshot victory. Brown’s .046-second reaction time ahead of Altenbach’s .084-second launch translated to a win at the other end, as her 9.053-second pass at 72.44 mph on an 8.98 dial-in erased his 8.964 at 74.30 mph on and 8.92 dial.
Altenbach still leads the Junior Dragster 2 class, but his lead over Brown is down to 11 points.
Brown also entered the “All In” Fun Race, which was part of the King of the Track festivities. In that non-points race against 13 other competitors she reached the semifinals, missing a berth in the final round by .0013 seconds.
