Cody Coughlin and the Team JEGS crew looked at his schedule for this weekend and noticed that it was an open weekend on his normally busy schedule.   They quickly decided to change that and get his Late Model ready to return to JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour competition at Auto City Speedway in Clio, Michigan.

The Joe Gibbs Racing Development driver will be competing in the Auto City 100 presented by JEGS.com this Saturday night.

“I’m really excited to be going back to race where I started my Late Model racing career,” Coughlin said.  “Especially going back to the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour where we won the championship last year.”

Last year, Coughlin finished second in the event at Auto City Speedway.

“I like the track a lot,” Coughlin said.  “It’s a unique track to drive around, which makes it challenging and fun.   I am looking forward to going back there and race there this weekend.”

Coughlin expects to race against some tough competition this Saturday night.

“The JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour has some pretty tough competition this year and has had solid car counts at their point events,” Coughlin said.  “Just looking over their results in their point events so far, they haven’t had a repeat winner yet this year. Hopefully, our team can continue that streak this weekend.”

Coughlin is coming off of a busy weekend where he competed in the ARCA Racing Series driving for Venturini Motorsports this past Friday at Pocono Raceway in Pocono, Pennsylvania, where he finished ninth. On Saturday, he raced at Columbus Motor Speedway in Columbus, Ohio in the ARCA/CRA Super Series and finished second.

“That was a good weekend for us,” Coughlin said.  “It really wasn’t that hard to transition from the ARCA car to the Late Model.  It was cool to race both cars within a 24-hour period and real pleased with our results in both.”

Along with the Team JEGS crew, Cody will have the support of his family this weekend from his parents, John & Di, and his biggest cheerleader, his sister Kennedi.

“I really have to thank my family for their support, especially with us going to Auto City Speedway this weekend,” Coughlin said.  “We are all looking forward to seeing the teams in the JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour.

“I also have to thank God for giving us the opportunity to race all over the country this year.  He has really blessed us with good cars and safe racing.”
