STATESVILLE, N.C. (May 8, 2018)—Cody Coughlin, driver of the No. 2 JEGS Chevrolet Silverado for GMS Racing, is hoping to pick up right where he left off after his best finish of the 2018 season in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) JEGS 200 at the Dover (Del.) International Speedway. Coughlin is motivated to carry that momentum to the Kansas Speedway.

The GMS Racing driver has posted two NASCAR Camping World Truck Series top-ten finishes this season, placing Coughlin poised for success for the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series championship battle. On May 11, Coughlin will be looking to keep that trend going.

Coughlin has set his sights on the Kansas Speedway, where he posted a fourth-place finish in 2014 in the Automobile Racing Club of America (ARCA) Racing Series. Even with that strong result, when the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series returns on Friday night, the 22-year old certainly will not take any opportunity for granted, despite the No. 2 JEGS Chevrolet Silverado team’s growing success.

Coughlin believes it will be important to capitalize on those positive vibes when he takes to the track in the 37 Kind Days 250 at the Kansas Speedway.

“I am excited to go to the Kansas Speedway and continue the upward momentum of the sixth-place finish in the JEGS 200 at the Dover International Speedway,” Coughlin said. “Our No. 2 JEGS Chevrolet Silverado team is going in with a ton of positive energy. I cannot thank my crew chief, Jerry Baxter, and the GMS Racing team enough for all of their hard work.

“We would like the Kansas wind to take us into victory lane with our No. 2 JEGS Chevrolet Silverado!”

This weekend marks Coughlin’s third appearance at the 1.5-mile tri-oval track in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.

Coughlin will pilot Chassis No. 307 in the 37 Kind Days 250 at the Kansas Speedway. The Baxter-led team last unloaded this GMS Racing-prepared chassis at the Las Vegas (Nev.) Motor Speedway on March 2, where Coughlin finished in the eighth-place after starting in the 14th-place.

Since entering the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series in 2013, the Statesville, N.C.,-based GMS Racing team has logged 12 starts at the Kansas Speedway, resulting in two top-five finishes and six top-10 finishes, with an average starting position of 14.5 and an average finishing position of 14.2 with nine laps led at the Kansas City, Kan.,-facility.

Baxter, crew chief for the No. 2 JEGS Chevrolet Silverado, has one top-five and four top-ten finishes in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series at the Kansas Speedway in six starts. In addition, he has one top-five finish in six NASCAR Xfinity Series (NXS) starts.

The 37 Kind Days 250 will be broadcast live on FS1 on Friday, May 11 starting at 8:00 p.m. (ET). It will also broadcast live at 8:00 p.m. (ET) on the Motor Racing Network (MRN) and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio. Qualifying for the sixth event of the 2018 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series schedule will air on Friday at 5:00 p.m. (ET) on FS1. In addition, the practice session on Friday will be televised live on FS1 at 9:30 a.m. (ET) and final practice for the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series at 11:30 a.m. (ET).

The 37 Kind Days 250 at the Kansas Speedway will re-air on Saturday, May 12 at 4:30 a.m. (ET) on FS1, and again, on Sunday, May 13 at 8:00 a.m. (ET) on FS1.
