Cody Coughlin has seen success at the unique half-mile oval just north of Flint, Michigan.  Coughlin has made three prior starts at Auto City Speedway.  His best finish came in his JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour championship season of 2013 when he finished second.  Coughlin has never finished lower than ninth at Auto City and finished sixth there last year.

Momentum On His Side

The last time the 19-year-old driver took to the track he scored a valiant third-place finish in the Circle City 100 at Lucas Oil Raceway with the ARCA/CRA Super Series.  Coughlin's left front tire went flat as he sat parked during a red flag at the halfway mark while in fourth.  Coughlin was forced to pit, but battled back as the laps wound down and got back to the front of the field.  Coughlin said after the race that he feels like momentum is shifting in his favor as the second half of the summer begins.

A Busy Week in Michigan

The next week is quite the busy one for the Joe Gibbs Racing development driver.  Three races in three different vehicles in a seven-day span is what lays ahead.  The week begins on Saturday at Auto City in the Pro Late Model.  Then Coughlin heads a couple hours west to Kalamazoo Speedway for the ARCA/CRA Super Series race in his Super Late Model on Wednesday.  After that it's back east to Brooklyn, Michigan where Coughlin will do some truckin'.  Coughlin will make his debut behind the wheel of a Toyota Tundra for Kyle Busch Motorsports in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race on Saturday, August 15.
