Incredible Road Course Debut in ARCA Competition
Cody Coughlin recently made his first start in road course racing. The 19 year-old competed in the ARCA Racing Series event at New Jersey Mo-torsports Park. It was his third start of 2015 in the series. Coughlin qualified ninth and ran in the top-10 throughout the 67-lap race around the 2.3-mile course. In fact, he was as high as second late in the race. Coughlin finished sixth in his debut and received many accolades from his crew chief, drivers and especially his trainer Chris Cook of the Bondurant/Chris Cook Performance Motorsports Stock Cars in Chandler, Arizona.
15th ARCA Racing Series Start
The Joe Gibbs Racing Development driver will be making his 15th start in the ARCA Racing Series in the Pocono ARCA 200. In his first 14 starts, he has one pole, five top-five and 11 top-ten finishes. He also has completed 99.54% of the laps in his races. This is his fourth ARCA Racing Series start in 2015 and has completed every lap so far this season. Coughlin also won the pole award at the Talladega Superspeedway (AL).
Top-10 Streak is Still Going
Coughlin is currently on a streak of six-straight top-10 finishes in ARCA Racing Series competition. That streak started at the second Pocono event in 2014. Four of those six are top-five finishes, with his best being second at Talladega last month.
Visiting a Popular Attraction in Columbus
Besides racing and other sports, Cody Coughlin has a love for animals. His family has a variety of animals including dogs, goats and horses. Oc-casionally, he will venture to the famous Columbus Zoo and Aquarium in Columbus, Ohio. The zoo is famous for its Director Emeritus Jack Hanna. Coughlin said that he enjoys visiting the orangutan exhibit along with other attractions the zoo provides for its guests.
