Cody Coughlin has had quite a few busy weeks throughout this 2016 campaign, but perhaps nothing will beat what he has in store for this Saturday.  Coughlin will run two races at two different tracks in one day in two different types of vehicles.  Fortunately for Coughlin, both races will be in the state of Michigan.

Coughlin will pilot his No. 51 JEGS.com Toyota Tundra for Kyle Busch Motorsports at the big two-mile oval of Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn, Michigan.  Then Coughlin will hustle over to Flat Rock Speedway in Carleton, Michigan, an hour away from MIS, for the ARCA/CRA Super Series event that night.

“Saturday is going to be a lot of fun,” said Coughlin, who currently leads the points in the ARCA/CRA Super Series.  “I’ve had plenty of busy weekends before, but this is a new one, so it should be a lot of fun, as well as challenging.”

The 20-year-old will focus most of his attention on the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Careers for Veterans 200.  He will have two practice sessions on Friday afternoon to dial in the truck before the 200-mile race on Saturday afternoon.

While Coughlin is at MIS, his Super Late Model will be driven by his crew chief, Jack Smith, in practice and possibly qualifying.  With the NCWTS race scheduled to go green at 1 p.m. ET, Coughlin will, however, have plenty of time to make it to Flat Rock before the green flag flies at approximately 7 p.m. ET.

“I’m very thankful that Jack is going to step in for me and make sure my car is as good as it can possibly be so we can go get another win,” said Coughlin, a Joe Gibbs Racing Development driver.  “I’ve got two awesome crews this weekend that I’m very thankful for.  I am so lucky to have car owners like Kyle and Samantha who give me great equipment on the Truck Series side, and I’m so thankful I have Jack, Kevin (Hamlin, team manager), Scott (Wimmer, spotter) and Dave (Holt, crew member) working on my Late Models.

“I’m also extremely blessed to have the support that I have from my parents (Di and John) and my sister, Kennedi, who has always been my biggest cheerleader.  They will be coming along for the ride on this hectic day.”

Coughlin’s weekend begins on Friday with practice at 1:30 p.m. Final practice will begin at 4 p.m. and end at 4:55 p.m. The Ohio native will qualify early on Saturday morning at 9:45 a.m. The green flag is scheduled to wave at Michigan International Speedway at 1 p.m. Coughlin will then make his way to Flat Rock Speedway for the green flag at 7 p.m. ET.
