Jeg Coughlin made his professional debut in Dallas in 1997. That year, he qualified 7th and best Scott Geoffrion before losing to Jim Yates in round two.
Jeg Coughlin won the Pro Stock title in Dallas in 2002, defeating Gene Wilson in the final round. He was also a runner-up in 2000, losing to Kurt Johnson, and again in 2003, losing to Greg Anderson.
Jeg was the low qualifier at the Dallas event in 2000. It is one of his seven career No. 1 qualifying positions.
In ten professional starts at the Texas Motorplex, Jeg has a record of 13-6 in elimination rounds. He also has three DNQs. (remember they ran two races here from 1998-2000).
Jeg Coughlin Sr. was runner-up in the Pro Comp class at the 1970 NHRA World Finals, which were held at the now defunct Dallas Motor Speedway.
