The honorable Windell Wheeler, Mayor of the City of Delaware, Ohio, is set to officially proclaim May 15-21 as JEG’S Week in honor of the world-renowned race team and mail order high-performance parts giant that calls the city home. Mike Coughlin, one of four racing Coughlin brothers, will commemorate the announcement by doing a long, smoky burnout across the intersection of Sandusky and Williams Street in historic Delaware Ohio in his powerful JEG’S Mail Order Chevy Cobalt racecar.

Coughlin will get the nod to perform his burnout from Mayor Wheeler himself, who will wave a flag to signal Coughlin to execute his burnout just after the mayor reads his proclamation at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, May 15th. Citizens of Delaware are encouraged to attend the event.

Aside from being home to the massive JEG’S empire, Delaware hosts the Little Brown Jug horse race, which features the largest payout in harness racing.
