Indy NHRA Lucas Series event rescheduled for July 20-22

The North Central Division NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event postponed due to wintry weather this weekend at O’Reilly Raceway Park at Indianapolis has been rescheduled for July 20-22.

With the date change, the final event counting toward the 2007 Jegs Allstars event for NHRA North Central Division racers will now be the May 18-20 NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event at Summit Racing Equipment Motorsports Park in Norwalk, Ohio. The Jegs Allstars race is scheduled in conjunction with the Torco Racing Fuels Route 66 NHRA Nationals in Chicago.

The North Central Division’s 2008 Jegs Allstars points will now begin with the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event at Route 66 Raceway June 15-17. The rescheduled Indy event in July will be counted for 2008 Jegs Allstars points.

The rescheduled Indy event was originally postponed to April 20-22, but due to a conflict with the Jegs.com NHRA Cajun SPORTSnationals in Belle Rose, La., officials opted to move the race to July. The O’Reilly Raceway Park at Indianapolis weekend schedule for April 19-22 remains as originally planned with a Thursday night slick tire test session, Friday’s second annual Jeramy Schmitt Memorial Drag Race, and VP Race Fuels NHRA Summit Racing Series bracket events Saturday and Sunday.
