Jeg Coughlin is the reigning NHRA Pro Stock champion. He has earned four NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series titles in his career, including back-to-back titles in 2007 and 2008. His other titles came in 2000 and 2002.
With 41 career Pro Stock wins, Jeg ranks fourth all-time among Pro Stock drivers. Only Warren Johnson (96), Bob Glidden (85) and Greg Anderson (57) have more titles.
In 2000, Jeg Coughlin won the NHRA event Phoenix, beating fellow Ohio native Mark Pawuk in the final round. Thus far, it is his only final round appearance at Firebird Raceway.
In 10 appearances at Firebird Raceway, Jeg has a win-loss record of 14-9 in Pro Stock Competition.
Last season, Jeg qualified his JEGS.com Cobalt No. 6 and reached the semifinal round of Pro Stock before losing to V. Gaines. He left Phoenix in second place and was never ranked lower than fourth at any point during the 2008 season.
Jeg’s best elapsed time at Firebird Raceway in Phoenix is 6.637-seconds, recorded during his round one victory over Justin Humphries during the 2008 event.
Jeg is currently qualified fourth for the K&N Horsepower Challenge, a special eight-car invitational event which is held each June in Norwalk, Ohio at pays $50,000 to the champion.
As a sportsman driver, Jeg won the Super Stock title at the 1995 Phoenix race. He also won a Lucas Oil Series event at Firebird Raceway in 1997, defeating Bob Panella Jr., to win the Competition Eliminator title.
