Jeg Coughlin Sr. was inducted into the Olentangy Business Hall of Fame Friday at a special ceremony in Powell, Ohio. A special plaque commemorating the event was accepted by Coughlin’s sons Troy, Mike, and Jeg Coughlin Jr. on behalf of their father, who was out of state on business and missed the occasion.

Jeg Jr. addressed the crowd of students, facility members, and business leaders about his father’s entrepreneurial spirit and the family businesses he developed. He also showed a video that highlighted interviews with Jeg Sr. where he discussed his business philosophy and how Jeg’s Automotive Inc. got its start.

“It was a true honor for my brothers and me to accept this award for our father,” Jeg Jr. said. “I think the students really enjoyed hearing about how a worldwide brand like JEG’S starts from very humble beginnings. It proves that with hard work and dedication, you can make anything happen.”

Past well-known inductees into the Olentangy Business Hall of Fame include John H. McConnell of Worthington Industries, congressman John Kasich of the U.S. House of Representative, and cookie maker Cheryl Krueger of Cheryl & Company, just to name a few.
