HEBRON, Ohio (Sept. 25) — The roar of high-horsepower racecars will give way to the rockin’ sounds of the Midwest’s favorite party band when Sonic Boom takes the stage at National Trail Raceway at 7:30 p.m. Friday night to entertain racers and fans attending this weekend’s fifth annual JEGS Northern SPORTSnationals.

Sponsored by JEGS themselves, Sonic Boom is a diverse group that plays new music, classic rock, dance, hip-hop, power pop, country, arena rock, and old school favorites. The band consists of lead singer Val Joseph, lead guitarist Grant Guilkey, bassist Jeremy Martin, and drummer Marty Brasington.

“We wanted to give everyone a chance to unwind and have some fun at the racetrack with all their friends, fans, and fellow competitors,” said Mike Coughlin. “The Coughlin family knows that drag racing and family go hand-in-hand for most people that participate in the sport so this is another way we can come together and enjoy each other’s company.

“The points races are heating up across the board so we already know the action is going to be intense. Having a little party should help everyone remember to have some fun while they’re out there fighting for wins.”

The concert will take place in the 64 Metals building in the pit area behind the main grandstands.
