Benton, IL (April 27): Heavy rains and area flooding have forced the postponement of the inaugural JEGS Spring Door Car Shootout at I-57 Dragstrip.  The event, originally scheduled for this weekend, will now take place July 30-31.

“This certainly wasn’t what we wanted to do, but we really have no choice,” explained co-promoter Luke Bogacki.  “We’ve had record rainfall over the last six days.  Several of the main roads that competitors and fans would use to get to the track are closed due to flooding.  Up until last night, we thought we could pull this off, but we got pounded with another row of storms.  Even if we had perfect weather this weekend, the pits are so saturated that the facility would just be a muddy mess.”

The entire JEGS Spring Door Car Shootout program will remain intact for the July 30-31 event.  The purse, prizes, and event structure will remain unchanged.  To keep up with the latest news and events, visit
