Cody Coughlin captured his first Late Model victory in the shadows of the Birthplace of Speed, Daytona Beach, Florida.  Now the 19 year-old will make the trek 20-minutes north to compete at Daytona Int’l Speedway in what will be his first of ten scheduled ARCA Racing Series events in 2015 with Venturini Motorsports in the number-55 Toyota Camry.

The Joe Gibbs Racing Development driver will prepare for his start at Daytona with an open ARCA test session on December 19 – 20 at the famous 2.5-mile oval.

The Lucas Oil 200 presented by MAVTV American Real on Saturday, February 14, 2015 will be the first of several superspeedway events in the ARCA Racing Series next year.

“I am looking forward to running more ARCA events.  It is a great series with good leadership and competition to learn from, and the experiences you get on the speedways are priceless,” Coughlin said.  “I am excited to start the season at Daytona in February.”

Coughlin will once again have Dave Leiner as his crew chief for the 2015 season.

“Dave has helped a ton with his ability to work with me and stay calm in all moments,” Coughlin said.  “Dave, along with Kevin Hamlin (Team JEGS Team Manager) Scott Wimmer (Spotter) and the rest of the team worked well together last season and we had a lot of success.  Joe Gibbs Racing is behind me 100% and I feel with a year under our belts, we will be able to keep growing as a team.”

Leiner is eager to work with Coughlin again at the upcoming test session.

“Cody has a lot of talent and good group of people around him.  He is really going to have a breakout year, I believe,” Leiner said.  “He is really right where he needs to be right out of the box.  Even though he hasn’t driven at Daytona, I think he will get acclimated very quickly.

“I really like working with Cody.  He is a great young man and has a lot of talent.  It will be my job to bring that talent to the forefront.  He is the star and it is my job to make the star shine.”

Billy Venturini, General Manager of Venturini Motorsports, is eager to have Coughlin driving their cars in 2015.

“I am looking forward to Cody being a part of Venturini Motorsports again.  He showed incredible growth throughout the entire season and I think there are great things to come in the 2015 season,” Venturini said.

“He matured so much throughout the season personally and professionally.  When you get a driver in his age range, a year can truly make a difference and it sure did with Cody with his skills behind the wheel.  We expect to win races with him and I feel like we should contend at every event we go to.”

Coughlin continues to receive great support from his family as he prepares for his second season in ARCA Racing Series competition.

“My parents (John & Di Coughlin) and my sister Kennedi continue to support me 100% in my efforts to move up in auto racing,” said the Delaware, Ohio native.  “I am very grateful for their love and support as we share this adventure together.

“I am also grateful for the blessings that God continues to give me not only in my racing career but in my life.  He has surrounded me with great people to help me achieve my dream as I continue to advance in my racing career and more.”

The ARCA Racing Series open test sessions are scheduled for Friday, December 19th and Saturday, December 20th at Daytona International Speedway with Sunday, December 21st open as a rain date, if needed.

Team JEGS will announce more racing plans for Cody Coughlin in 2015 during the coming months.
