DELAWARE, Ohio (July 3) — JEGS.com pros Mike and Troy Jr. Coughlin are ready for some top-notch Sportsman drag racing action this weekend at the NHRA event in Norwalk, Ohio.
A two-time Div. 3 champion in Top Sportsman, Mike has his Chevrolet Camaro primed for action in the popular category. This national event is a special one for Mike as he normally competes at the divisional level.
"I don’t get to go to many nationals these days so I’m very excited about this weekend," Mike said. "My wife Kriss and our sons Jack and Clay are coming with me as well as my dad, Jeg Sr. It’s always great having them there with me."
Mike will also have crew chief Greg Cody and Rick Rossiter helping this weekend.
Norwalk always is a special race because of it's proximity to JEGS world headquarters in Delaware, Ohio. There will certainly be lots of family and friends of JEGS' 350-plus associates at the track to cheer on their favorite drivers.
Team JEGS will have five entries total between four drivers. Aside from Mike's Top Sportsman car, his brothers Troy and Jeg will be racing in Pro Mod and Pro Stock, respectively, while nephew Troy Jr. will race in both Super Gas and Super Comp.
"It’s nice to be racing so close to home," Troy Jr. said. "My Mom is coming this weekend and I’m really excited to have her with us. The cool thing about this is that I’ll be racing with my dad as well as my uncle Mike and uncle Jeg. It’s rare when we can all race together."
Sportsmen qualifying begins early Thursday with eliminations starting Friday.
