CONCORD, N.C. (August 31, 2010) – MRN Radio continues to expand its digital presence in the motor sports marketplace this week, with a special one-hour stream of the NHRA “Straight Line” report on Thursday, Sept. 2.
The program will preview the 56 th running of the Mac Tools U.S. Nationals Presented by Lucas Oil and will be hosted by veteran MRN producer Marty Hough. The special edition of Straight Line can be heard at 12 p.m. (EDT) on Thursday by logging onto MotorRacingNetwork.com. The program will be available for download at the conclusion of the hour.
Scheduled guests will include drivers Antron Brown (Top Fuel), Ron Capps (Funny Car), Jeg Coughlin Jr. (Pro Stock) and Steve Johnson (Pro Stock Motorcycle).
“With our Knoxville Nationals World of Outlaws preview earlier this month and now the special online airing of Straight Line, MRN Radio continues to expand its reach in the motor sports arena,” said MRN Web Manager Craig Moore. “2010 has been a year of growth for the Motor Racing Network. Exclusive online content such as this week’s preview of the U.S. Nationals sharpens MRN’s profile as a clear voice fans can turn to for reliable racing information – in and out of the NASCAR arena.”
With the ongoing development of a new, more comprehensive website, the Motor Racing Network continues to broaden its scope beyond the signature brand of award-winning NASCAR race coverage it’s been producing for more than four decades.
To help steer fans to the new MotorRacingNetwork.com, MRN Radio has developed a wide range of exclusive online programming – including the Straight Line, a weekly podcast that provides a penetrating look at the world of drag racing.
Produced by Hough, the Straight Line delivers news, event updates, inside information, interviews, and feature stories with the leading personalities and top performers in the sport. A fresh edition of the program is posted to www.motorracingnetwork.com each Thursday morning.
While the new website retains an emphasis on NASCAR and its three top national series (Sprint Cup, Nationwide and Camping World Trucks), the new MotorRacingNetwork.com also features many other forms of racing including Formula One, the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series, IndyCar, World of Outlaws, ARCA and the AMA.
“Our new content, such as the U.S. Nationals preview, is providing fans of all racing disciplines an authentic connection to the sport they love,” said MRN President David Hyatt. “MRN will continue to be ‘The Voice of NASCAR’ on the air but will also be a more far-reaching motor sports authority in the digital arena.”
The 56 th edition of the U.S. Nationals will be held Sept. 1-6 at O’Reilly Raceway Park at Indianapolis.
