GLENDORA, Calif. — (Oct. 18, 2011) – The 2012 NHRA Get Screened America Pro Mod Drag Racing Series schedule was announced today by NHRA officials. Highlighting the schedule is a stop at the inaugural NHRA Midwest Nationals at Gateway Motor Sports Park near St. Louis, Sept. 28-30, 2012.
The 2012 NHRA Get Screened America Pro Mod Drag Racing Series will once again feature 10 races, beginning the season with the 43rd annual Tire Kingdom NHRA Gatornationals, at Gainesville (Fla.) Raceway, March 8-11. From there, the series will make the first of two visits to zMAX Dragway in Charlotte, N.C., April 13-15, as part of the VisitMyrtleBeach.com NHRA Four-Wide Nationals. The 250-mph machines will compete in the traditional two-wide configuration.
After Charlotte, the NHRA Get Screened America Pro Mod Drag Racing Series returns to the O’Reilly Auto Parts NHRA Spring Nationals in Houston (April 27-29), the NHRA SuperNationals in Englishtown, N.J. (May 31-June 3), the Ford NHRA Thunder Valley Nationals in Bristol, Tenn. (June 15-17), and concludes the first part of the season with a stop at the NHRA Norwalk Nationals in Norwalk, Ohio, July 5-8.
The second half of the season begins at the most prestigious NHRA event of the season, the Mac Tools U.S. Nationals presented by Lucas Oil at Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis, Aug. 29 – Sept. 3. Following the traditional Labor Day weekend event, the NHRA Get Screened America Pro Mod Drag Racing Series will return to Charlotte for the O’Reilly Auto Parts NHRA Nationals (Sept. 14-16), visit St. Louis for the inaugural NHRA Midwest Nationals (Sept. 28-30) and conclude the season, Oct. 25-28, at the Big O Tires NHRA Nationals at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
In 2012, the entry quotas will remain the same with NHRA accepting 26 cars per event and 30 cars for the Mac Tools U.S. Nationals. The NHRA Get Screened America Drag Racing Series will feature 16-car fields and, thanks to the Get Screened America sponsorship, will compete for world championship points and an overall purse, including event purses and a year-end bonus fund totaling $470,000.
