Jeg Coughlin Jr. enters this week’s AAA Insurance NHRA Midwest Nationals as the sixth-ranked driver in the NHRA Full Throttle Pro Stock standings. At the most recent event in Las Vegas, Jeg recorded a quarterfinal finish.
 
Jeg is the defending Pro Stock champion at the AAA Insurance NHRA Midwest Nationals. Last year, he defeated Jason Line in the final round to take the third of his seven wins during the 2009 season. Jeg also won the Pro Stock title at Gateway Int’l Raceway in 2002, defeating Greg Anderson in the final, He was also a runner-up in Pro Stock here in 1998 and 2007.
 
In 11 career appearances at Gateway Int’l Raceway, Jeg has a round win record of 21-9 in Pro Stock competition.
 
Jeg Coughlin is a four-time NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series Pro Stock champion. He earned season titles in 2000, 2002, 2007 and 2008. As a sportsman driver, Jeg also claimed the NHRA Super Gas championship in 1992.
 
In 2009, Jeg enjoyed one of his best years as a professional racer winning seven of 23 events and reaching the final round in two others. He compiled a round-win record of 50-17, the second best record in the class.
 
As a sportsman racer, Jeg won the Super Stock title at Gateway Int’l Raceway in 1997 when he drove his brother, John’s car to a final round victory over Mike Town.
 
Jeg has qualified in the top half of the Pro Stock field in ten of his 11 appearances at Gateway Int’l Raceway including a best of third in 2000. His average qualifying position at this track is No. 7
 
With 49 career Pro Stock wins, Jeg ranks fourth all-time among Pro Stock drivers. Only Warren Johnson (96), Bob Glidden (85) and Greg Anderson (60) have more titles.
 
In 266 career Pro Stock races, Jeg has reached the final round 78 times, recording 49 wins. Including his 13 sportsman victories, Jeg has won a total of 62 times, good for ninth place on NHRA’s all time wins list. During his career, Jeg has appeared in 96 final rounds, 78 as a professional and 18 as a sportsman racer.
 
Jeg is ranked No. 6 in the K&N Horsepower Challenge standings. The K&N Challenge is a special event that will take place in Norwalk, Ohio on June 26. It is a special $50,000 to win event that is open only to the top eight Pro Stock racers based on their qualifying performance over the previous year.
 
During his Pro Stock career, Jeg has recorded 444 round wins while incurring just 204 losses. He has failed to advance past the opening round just 60 times.
 
The JEGS Mail Order Team will also be represented in St. Louis by Troy Coughlin Sr., who will be driving his JEGS.com Camaro in the Get Screened America Pro Mod Series, and by Troy’s son, T.J., and Jeg’s fiancée Samantha Kenny, who will both be driving JEGS.com dragsters in the Super Comp division.
 
Troy Coughlin Sr. is currently ranked ninth in the GSA Pro Mod points standings. He is one of just ten drivers who have qualified for each of the first two races of the 2010 season. Troy Sr. is the reigning NMCA Pro Street champion.
 
Troy (T.J.) Coughlin Jr., is in his second-full season in the Super Comp class. He claimed his first NHRA national event title last November in Las Vegas. Samantha Kenny also claimed her first national event title last year, winning the Super Comp title in Norwalk, Ohio.  
 
In St. Louis the JEGS team will continue to promote the JEGS “Win this Car” contest, a special promotion to celebrate the 50th anniversary of JEGS Mail Order. As part of the promotion, one lucky JEGS fans will win a yellow and black 2010 Chevy Camaro.
