In 2012, Jeg Coughlin Jr. is making his return to the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series after a one-year hiatus. Jeg Jr is driving the all-new JEGS Mopar Dodge Avenger in the Pro Stock class. In his first outing since his return, he drove to a runner-up finish at the O’Reilly Auto Parts Winternationals.
After the first ten rounds, Jeg Coughlin Jr. is ranked 12th in the NHRA Full Throttle points standings but he is just 17 points (less than one round) out of the top ten.
Jeg Coughlin Jr. is a four-time NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series Pro Stock champion. He earned season titles in 2000, 2002, 2007 and 2008. As a sportsman driver, Jeg Jr also claimed the NHRA Super Gas championship in 1992.
Jeg Coughlin Jr. has enjoyed tremendous success at Route 66 Raceway during his Pro Stock career with four victories and three runner-up finishes since 2002. Jeg’s wins have come against Ron Krisher (2002), Greg Anderson (2003), Jason Line (2007) and Mike Edwards (2009). He has also finished runner-up to Kurt Johnson (2003 Spring event and 2008), and Jason Line (2005).
In 17 career appearances at Route 66 Raceway, Jeg Jr has a round win record of 31-11 in Pro Stock competition.
During his hiatus from Pro Stock racing in 2011, Jeg Jr returned to his roots and spent much of the year racing in various sportsman classes. He enjoyed tremendous success, winning the Super Comp title at the JEGS NHRA Pacific SPORTSnationals in

In 293 career Pro Stock races, Jeg Jr has reached the final round 85 times, recording 52 wins. Including his 16 sportsman victories, Jeg Jr has won a total of 68 times, good for tenth place on NHRA’s all-time wins list. During his career, Jeg Jr has appeared in 106 final rounds, 85 as a professional and 21 as a sportsman racer.

Jeg Jr is one of only two drivers, along with Peter Biondo, to win national event titles in six different categories. He has won in Pro Stock, Comp, Super Stock, Super Comp, Super Gas, and Top Dragster.

The O’Reilly Auto Parts Route 66 Nationals will also be the site of the annual JEGS Allstars competition, which features 80 of the best racers from NHRA’s Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series from all over
Mike Coughlin is the Top Sportsman representative for the host team from the NHRA North Central Division. Mike will be making his third appearance in the JEGS Allstars race.
Mike is a two-time North Central Division Top Sportsman champion and a 12-time NHRA national event winner in Pro Stock Truck, Top Sportsman, and Super Comp.
