The most coveted item to a drag racer is the Wally trophy presented to the winner of each national and divisional event. Running a close second to accolades drag racers crave is a cover shot on National DRAGSTER, the longtime magazine of the NHRA.

Third-generation driver Troy Coughlin Jr. can now say he’s enjoyed both as the son of Pro Street champion Troy Coughlin and grandson of former Top Fuel driver and JEGS Automotive founder Jeg Coughlin Sr. continues to revel in his first national event victory at the ninth annual Las Vegas NHRA Nationals.

T.J. claimed his Wally on Nov. 2 at the top end of The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The cover shot came next when National DRAGSTER Managing Editor Phil Burgess selected a photo of T.J. doing a smoky burnout in his JEGS.com Super Comp dragster at the starting line for the cover of the Nov. 20th issue. Under the headline “Attaboy, Troy! Coughlin Jr. continues families winning legacy with first victory,” T.J.’s win is now memorialized forever.
