DELAWARE, Ohio (July 16) — National Trail Raceway is where an 8-year-old Troy "T.J." Coughlin Jr. first started racing Jr. Dragsters, following in the footsteps of his famous grandfather Jeg Coughlin Sr., his father Troy Coughlin Sr., and three uncles, John, Mike and Jeg Coughlin Jr.

Now 22, T.J. will return to his chosen career's birthplace this weekend behind the wheel of his JEGS.com Super Comp dragster and Super Gas roadster for the second Division 3 NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event of the season.

"It's always fun racing at home," T.J. said. "Our division always puts on great races, and it's nice having the family and friends come out, too."

So far this year, T.J. has won the national event in Gainesville, Fla., and a divisional race in Norwalk, Ohio.

"I am very excited and grateful to be racing both of my JEGS.com hot rods this weekend," T.J. said. "My girlfriend Mia Tedesco is racing as well, and it's always great to have her and her family there."

Racing action from National Trail Raceway will begin with time trials and the Moser Shootouts on Friday and will continue with eliminations on Saturday.
