Pre Race

Troy Coughlin heads to Las Vegas looking to change his luck. He has failed to qualify at the three events contested so far this season and is ready to turn things around at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

“We have not had the start to the 2004 NHRA POWERade season we have wanted,” said Troy. “Las Vegas seems like a natural place for us to turn things around.”

Troy and his brother Jeg tested at Las Vegas for two days before heading to the season opener in Pomona, CA. The team will use the data from the test session to get themselves pointed in the right direction this weekend.

“We need to eliminate the mistakes we are making and start the weekend by running well right out of the trailer,” explained Troy. “You just can’t put yourself in the position of not being in the quick-16 going into the last qualifying session. I think the days of making the big play with your back against the wall in our class is over. You need to have a firm game plan and make small measurable changes throughout the weekend.”
