Team JEG’S – Pro Stock
Troy Coughlin
Friday Qualifying Summary

Troy Coughlin started the first day of qualifying by posting a run of 6.948 at 199.52 mph. The run was on the conservative side and gave the team data that will help them for the rest of the weekend. The Jeg’s Mail Order Chevy Cavalier landed in the No. 16 position by the end of the first session.

“We were on the conservative side for our first run,” explained Coughlin. “It rained most of the day and we had a pretty green track to deal with. The track will get better with each run and we expect to improve with each run down the track.”

During the second of the four scheduled qualifying sessions Coughlin improved. He ran 6.907 at 200.14 mph and slipped down to the No. 20 spot.

“We will just have to approach things a little differently during our final two qualifying sessions tomorrow (Saturday),” commented Coughlin. “Our group is capable of making two competitive runs and getting this Jeg’s Mail Order Chevy back into the quick-16. The entire team knows how important it is to perform well at this race.”

There are two remaining qualifying sessions scheduled for tomorrow (Saturday) before the field is set for race day. The sessions are scheduled for 12:00 PM and 2:30 PM respectively.
