Troy Coughlin will head for the sun in Phoenix, AZ this weekend for the Checker Schuck’s Kragen Nationals. The Ohio native is looking forward to the trip, not just because of the sun. Coughlin is ready to get behind the wheel and back to work at an event where he scored a runner-up finish last year.

Troy suffered a disappointing DNQ last weekend at the season opener. However, the second generation driver is upbeat and is ready move forward.

“We made some errors last week in Pomona that ultimate sealed our fate,” said Troy. “We have spent a number of hours looking at what we did and what we should have done. The time we spent will hopefully get us going in the right direction the minute the JEG’S Mail Order Chevy Cavalier rolls out of the trailer in Phoenix. We also boxed up a couple of engines after qualifying was over in Pomona and sent them directly to our shop to be repaired and ready for battle in Phoenix.”

Troy Coughlin and his JEG’S Mail Order Chevy Cavalier will enter the second race of the 2004 NHRA POWERade Drag Racing Series ready to make a move up the ladder from the No. 17 position in the points. He has 10 points and can make a bold move up in the standings with a strong performance.
