DELAWARE, Ohio (May 15) — Better known for his ability to drive a racecar on the NASCAR tour, or perhaps his role as a commentator on SPEED TV’s coverage of the sport, superstar Kenny Wallace donned his pitchman’s hat earlier this week at Horizons Companies to promote JEGS High Performance.

Ever comfortable in front of the camera, Wallace filmed a series of commercials for JEGS, and had the film crew and producers clutching their sides for most of the proceedings.

“We have a two versions of every commercial,” said Scott “Woody” Woodruff, JEGS director of media and motorsports. “There are the regular commercials our advertising department had scripted out. Then there’s the Kenny version of everything. The guy is incredibly funny and just has a good time with everything he does. This was no exception. Even when we tried to get him to be serious he still added his personality to the script. It was perfect, and I think our current and future customers are really going to like the spots.”

Wallace brandishes a JEGS logo on his shirt whenever he’s on television as part of a personal services agreement he has with the industry leader. He also owns and occasionally drives the JEGS.com Modified dirt track car, which competes at 40-plus races each year. Additionally, Wallace drives a JEGS.com-branded Super Late Model racecar each year at Tony Stewart’s Prelude to the Dream charity race in Eldora.

“I’m honored to be a part of the JEGS family,” Wallace said. “You hang around these guys and it restores your faith in family values and ethical business practices. They are a first-class group in every respect, both at the races and at JEGS headquarters.

“When the guys asked me to film these spots for them I was happy to do it. They had some lines all worked out for me but I was just kind of winging it at times. We had a lot of fun and I hope people like the commercials and that it gets them to buy their high-performance parts from JEGS.com.

“Every time I go up there for a visit I’m always amazed at the distribution center. This place is so high tech. They got robots going and getting parts to fill orders. It’s amazing to see it all happen. And you get a part the next day. You can’t beat that.”

The commercials will begin airing in the next few weeks.
